SafePlace plays an integral role in international codes and standards development.  SafePlace principals serve on several code development committees including the National Fire Alarm Code (ANSI/NFPA 72), the Committee on Premises Security (ANSI/NFPA 730/731), the Technical Committee on Emergency Communication/Mass Notification Systems (ANSI/NFPA SIG-ECS), the Standard on Disaster/Emergency Management and Business Continuity Programs (ANSI/NFPA 1600), the U.S. Technical Advisory Group to the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) for the Societal Security Standard (ISO/TC223) the international standard for crisis management and business continuity, and assisted in the completion of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security sponsored Risk Analysis and Management for Critical Assets Protection program.

John C. Fannin III serves as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of SafePlace Corporation.  Mr. Fannin brings more than 30 years specialized experience in industrial security, fire protection engineering, life safety and risk/emergency management and has a diverse executive management background.  Mr. Fannin also serves as a corporate officer with KCI Protection Technologies LLC and Tetragon Associates LLC.   A graduate of the College of Engineering of the University of Maryland, he publishes and lectures internationally and regularly provides commentary for BBC, CBS, CNN, NBC and other major media outlets, appearing frequently on television and radio.
